AFFILIATE MARKETING COPYWRITER (CONTRACT POSITION)

***Please note: This position requires a candidate with affiliate marketing industry experience.
THE ROLE:
Acceleration Partners is seeking a 1099 (contract) part-time copywriter (with potential to turn into a full-time position) who has in-depth knowledge about and professional experience with affiliate marketing. The primary function of this role will be to work collaboratively with Acceleration Partners’ (AP) marketing team and AP employees to develop high-value, informative, engaging and high-quality content around the topics of affiliate marketing, performance marketing and AP company culture. This process will also involve working with a freelance editor.
The ideal candidate will have experience writing and developing engaging, customer-focused affiliate marketing content and have high standards for the quality and value of the content they produce. This individual should also have a career track record that aligns with our core values of Own It, Embrace Relationships, and Excel & Improve. 
This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Content Marketing, but the candidate will also sit within and integrate efforts with the greater marketing team and support the content objectives of AP’s sales and leadership teams.  

TOP 5 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. WRITING AFFILIATE-FOCUSED CONTENT: Writing a variety of affiliate and performance marketing-focused copy and content that supports AP Americas and AP Global content marketing strategy and speaks to the needs, concerns, pain points and interests of prospective AP clients.
  2. EXTRACT THOUGHT LEADERSHIP FROM AP TEAM MEMBERS: Collaborate with AP thought leaders and subject matter experts to gather necessary details and information to create high-value content.   
  3. REVAMPING AND REPURPOSING AP CONTENT: Taking large, substantial pieces of AP content (e.g. an e-book) and revamping or reusing it for smaller types of content (e.g. a blog post, an infographic, a one-pager, etc.).
  4. WRITING WEBSITE & MISC. CONTENT: Develop on-page copy for AP website when it’s determined select pages need updating.                                           
  5.  CONTRIBUTE IDEAS FOR CONTENT: Share ideas for content that relate to and support AP’s US and global content marketing strategy.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:                                      

By 6 Months, Writer Is:
  • Clear on the global content strategy for both AP Americas and AP global.
  • Familiar with AP style guide and is cognizant to follow the AP style in their writing.
  • Proofing all copy they own to ensure accuracy of information and mechanics of writing (before sending to editor), which includes AP style, punctuation, spelling, structure and organization.
  • Correcting and revising copy (based on editor’s feedback) until approved and maintain history of all copy revisions throughout entire project cycle.
  • Using a consistent, compelling and brand-appropriate voice throughout all content and communications.
  • Writing in a format that is easy for the reader to digest.
  • Comfortably using Content Marketing Calendar in Asana to track and assign content tasks, sub-tasks and deadlines.
  • Adhering to quality and deadlines.
  • Working closely with Sr. Manager, Content Marketing to write and edit two downloadable content pieces (e.g. e-book or guide), a minimum of 10 blog posts, one infographic and one case study.
  • Contributing (or has contributed) to one significant global content piece.
  • Growing more comfortable with the marketing team’s established KPIs and how content production contributes to reaching those metrices.
  • Growing more comfortable contributing ideas for content that aligns with US and global content strategy.
  • Establishing an efficient process for reaching out to AP team members to gather information and insights for content (e.g. client case studies).
By 1 Year, Writer:
  • Owns the writing and initial editing process for 80% of AP Americas content with minimal oversight.
  • Consistently following AP style guide in content.
  • Is proficient in incorporating design notes within content for AP’s design team.
  • Contributes significantly to writing and editing involved with AP’s global content initiatives.
  • Has elevated in their writing skill sets so that the quantity of edits and copyedits made by freelance editor is significantly reduced.
  • Has become a more proficient writer and is able to shorten the length of time from the initial writing phase to publication.
  • Is producing content that is driving measurable, high-value results and significantly contributing to the marketing team’s established KPIs.
  • Has an established process for reaching out to AP team members to gather information, details, expertise and insights for high-value content.
  • Regularly contributes ideas for content that aligns with US and global content strategy.

  • In-depth knowledge about and experience in affiliate marketing.
  • Confident in your writing abilities and comfortable being the writer behind the scenes.
  • Able to research and incorporate supporting facts, case studies and best practices into content.
  • Flexible in your collaboration with subject matter experts and thought leaders as well as in your approach to getting the information you need to write high-value copy/content.
  • A self-starter who is comfortable collaborating with team members in a remote environment while also working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, high-performing, deadline-focused environment that values accountability, creativity, collaboration, a positive attitude, growth, passion and fun.
  • Highly organized in your writing, researching and editing process.
  • Capable of coordinating/prioritizing several projects at once and changing directions when needed.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Possess mature and measured judgment, and the ability to creatively solve problems on your own.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • 1-2 years affiliate marketing experience; in-depth knowledge of affiliate marketing
  • Minimum of 1-2 years professional writing experience – preferably for affiliate marketing-related content.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required (ideally in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field).
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
